adding intro paragraph / description to the category page

Hi, I´m trying to create a category page where full posts will be seen on the category listing page – like I have on http://dev.jewishcoffeehouse.com/jewish-thought/the-halacha-minute/
but on this page – as it is the auto generated category page – I cannot add content and info in details does not appear on the page.

I tried using elementor to create a page like this – but the full post did not come up just a partial post within the page. anyway I can get a full post to appear within a listing on elementor.

I tried to add the code line: “<?php echo category_description( $category_id ); ?>” to the archives page accept the content in the description box on the category page and that did not work.

I tried adding plugin category enhancer – but that did not work either

please advise
