    What is the recommended way or the recommended plugin in order to add a Paypal Donate button to any page without setting up of a shopping cart system (such as woocommerce)

    Actually, in PayPal’s settings is supposed to be an option of displaying a purchase or donate button.

    Check that out before installing the plugin.

    Yes, there are several Donate buttons and even a custom one.
